International Fair For Young African Researchers (IFYAR) 1st Edition, 2020


The Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Dr Madeleine Tchuinté chaired on Friday 04 December 2020, in the ecotourism park ”ECOPARK” in Ahala a district of Yaounde, the opening ceremony of the very first edition of IFYAR . This activity is part of the cooperation between the public and private sector with a view to boosting economic growth and employment. It was a 5-day fair aimed at strengthening the integration of the young researcher in the technological, economic and social development of the African continent. Mr. Foé Essomba Joseph Rodrigue, the promoter of this initiative was congratulated by the Minister and presented to other young researchers as an example to follow. The objective of the said Fair was to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and research through exhibitions of inventions and discoveries and the organization of training workshops.

IFYAR came to showcase science in a fabulous manner to the general public through programs such as :

  • IFYAR which was an initiative of students from The Biotechnology Center supported by the Head of the Laboratory for Public Health Biotechnologies Prof. Wilfred Mbacham had as objective to targets :
  • Students from all disciplines from all over the national territory as well as international students
  • students at the end of the course
  • companies wishing to promote their products
  • the scientific community
  • public institutions
  • Civil society
